Following an intensive 8 week conditioning programme LDV will
begin training with a ball again on Monday August 6th at Bacon's
College. A full six weeks of training three nights a week before
the start of the season will mean that LDV will be the one of
the best prepared teams in the country. A number of new players
are expected to try out in the first two weeks. Anyone wishing
to join them should contact Andy Hopper.

One of LDV's and England's best volleyball prospects, Yassir
Sliti, received a further boost to his bid for super-stardom
in the form of
a Sports Aid London grant. This will further help him achieve
his ambition
to study Long Beach University on a volleyball scholarship.
Yassir
received his award from the new Sports Minister Richard Carborn
at a
ceremony sponsored by the Evening Standard. The corresponding
